Lot 101 of 714: A 17TH CENTURY INDIAN CUIRASS OR ARMOUR, the anatomically formed breast plate with raised medial ridge and reinforced scalloped and pierced edges, the back plate of similar anatomical form and with upright gadrooned collar, rolled hinge and pin joints, the armour bears an inscription SAKAR NIZAM ALI KHAN BAHADUR 1192. Born on the 24th of December 1778 the child was the son of Bahu Begum, the favourite and most important wife of the Nizam of Hydrabad. This earlier cuirass was probably refurbished
