Lot 346 of 459: A GEORGIAN LIGHT INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD TO THE 51ST REGIMENT?, 78cm sharply curved blade with minor edge nicks, regulation neo classical steel hilt with D-shaped knuckle guard, the leather covered grip with triple foliate rivets, contained in its steel scabbard with fixed rings. This style of flank officer's sword is attributed to the 51st Regiment of Foot or 2nd Yorkshire or West Riding Regiment, see pages 150 and 154 Swords of the British Army, 2nd edition, by Robson.
