MARY I (1553-1554), gold sovereign 1553, pomegranate mint mark after Maria, enthroned Queen holding orb and sceptre, portcullis at feet and date MDLIII at end of legend. This sovereign is the largest of the gold coinage of this period and very good over all condition with some wear and creasing, struck very straight and crisp, and extremely rare coin in any grade, 15g.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OPINIONS ON CONDITION ARE SUBJECTIVE - IT IS DOWN TO THE INDIVIDUAL BUYER TO MAKE THEIR OWN DECISION AS TO THE CONDITION OF EACH COIN.
