A GEORGIAN BLUED AND GILT CONTINENTAL OFFICER'S SWORD BY SALTER, 77.5cm incurved triangular section blade decorated with scrolling foliage and stands of arms on a blued ground and highlighted in gilt, characteristic gilt hilt decorated with classical imagery, a recumbent lion and stands of arms, contained in its engraved gilt mounted black leather scabbard, the upper mount with maker's panel for Salter and decorated with a stand of arms to include a trident. Scabbard leather in two parts and chape lacking.
