A 17TH CENTURY ENGLISH CAVALRY OFFICER'S BACKSWORD, 93.5cm double fullered blade, characteristic iron hilt of part basket form and comprising three foliate engraved upturned plates, one terminating in a thumb loop the other two screwed to the spherical pommel decorated to match, later wire bound leather covered grip.
