A SCARCE BATTLE OF CULLODEN PERIOD CLAN MACTAVISH SILVER INLAID BASKET HILTED BACK SWORD, 81cm triple fullered blade, steel basket hilt composed of flattened wavy bars, the two side junction plates with linear engraved decoration and pierced with circles and hearts, the principle form of the hilt composed from two opposing Clan MacTavish crests being wild boars heads within garters, the latter bearing the clan motto NON OBLITUS, faceted forward guard, broad rolled wrist guard, flattened conical pommel, the whole inlaid with linear, dashed and geometric silver designs, wire bound fishskin grip, later velvet liner.
