Lot 240 of 311: An 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer's sword to the Durham Light Infantry, 82.5cm blade etched with scrolling foliage, crowned GVR cypher, crowned Royal arms and the owner's name LIEUT. J.H. BAILLIE, regulation pierced steel hilt incorporating a crowned GVR cypher, wire bound fishskin grip, contained in its black field service scabbard. J.H. Baillie served in the Durham Light Infantry and was killed in action on the 3rd of May 1917.
