Lot 126 of 367: An English Civil War period Officer's Mortuary Hilted Backsword, 81cm double fullered blade incised HOVN MEFACIT in each fuller, characteristic iron hilt with two scrolling and two straight side bars, the underside and front of the guard chiselled and pierced with scrolling foliage and stylised heads and masks, representative of Charles I and Queen Henrietta Maria, spherical pommel decorated with scrolls, wire bound grip with Turk's heads.
